Presenters Needed: International Mother Language Day: Friday February 20th
Dailey Families,
February 21st is International Mother Language Day. This is a worldwide annual observance held on February 21st to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism. We will be honoring International Mother Language Day on Friday, February 20th here at Dailey Charter.
If you would be interested in speaking to one of our classes this year or presenting at our whole school afternoon cultural fair in regard to your Mother Language, please complete the attached form or email Mrs. Rodriquez at heather.rodriquez@fics.us by Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
In-classroom presentations last around 25 minutes and most of our guest speakers focus on the language they grew up speaking or languages passed down in their family, while others focus on areas of expertise (loss of languages, impact on language loss and our world today, etc.) We are open to any kind of presentation around language itself and how it supports and enhances international mindedness.
If you are interested in participating in our whole school afternoon cultural fair, individual speakers can set up booths with information about their home country, including language, food, clothing, traditions, music, celebrations, etc. Please email Mrs. Rodriquez if you have any questions.
